Change Google Authentication

If you replace or lose the device you use for two-factor authentication (2FA), you'll need to change your Google authentication to maintain account security.

💡After resetting your Google verification, you will not be able to withdraw currencies within 24 hours.


How to change your Google authentication if you have access to your registered Google authentication​

  1. Select the Personal Center in the top right to open the Personal center page.
  2. Select your email address to open the Account information page.

  4. In Account Info, select Security.
  5. On the Security page, select Authenticator App.
  6. Copy the secret key provided or save the QR Code.

  8. Open your authentication app on the new device and select the + symbol, then you can paste the key or scan the QR code.
  9. Select the account type.
  10. You will now see a 6-digit one-time passcode in your authenticator app on the new device.
  11. Return to the CoinByte app and select the Continue button below.

  13. Before continuing, make sure you have successfully added this account to your authenticator app.

  14. Enter the 6-digit one-time password from your authenticator app, then select the Continue button below.
  15. Finish Email Verification and Google Verification. (Note: Google Verification here is to enter the 6-digit code on your old device you used before, not on the new device you want to change to.)
  16. Finish changing Google authentication.

What if you don't have access to your registered Google authentication?​

If you’ve lost access to your device or can’t log in with Google Authenticator, Please refer to the What to Do If You Cannot Access to Your Current Security Verification section to change your Authenticator App.
